There will be a Big Sky Transportation District Board meeting on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 1-2:30 pm at the Big Sky Water & Sewer District Office, 561 Little Coyote Road in the Meadow Village.

Fare Increase for the Link – Jan 1, 2013

After more than two years without an increase in fares, Skyline announces that it is increasing the cost of its fare cards/bus passes. Although there will be an increase, the cost of using the Link Express service between Big Sky and Bozeman remains a great bargain.

With the increase, a five-ride fare card will cost $15 ($3 per roundtrip); an eleven ride card (10 rides plus one bonus ride) will cost $30; and the 23-ride card (20 rides plus 3 bonus rides) will cost $60. The cash fare will remain the same at $5/roundtrip.

The service within Big Sky remains fare free. All fare cards purchased before January 1 will still be valid to use on the Link Express service. Also, as before, the bus passes are transferrable. This means you can always take a friend along to ski, and use your bus pass to pay for their ride.

West Yellowstone Service Started Aug 20th

Skyline Bus and their operating partner, Karst Stage are working together to provide a daily shuttle to Big Sky & West Yellowstone from Bozeman, Belgrade, and the Airport. The West Yellowstone service will begin Monday August 20th. It is being offered in addition to Skyline’s Link Express and local Big Sky service.

The new service will replace the once daily trip Karst Stage was offering to West Yellowstone in the winter only, with a twice daily, year round service. The service will operate on a fixed schedule by demand-response. The bus will not run unless someone schedules a ride in advance. If a trip is running, walk-ups will be accepted.
